Number of years at firm: 15

One thing on my bucket list: Going to the final round of The Masters

When I am not working, I am: Spending time with my kids.

What recent project, transaction or accomplishment are you most proud of? Since 2006, Lauring Construction has worked with Nichols College, a private business school in Dudley, Mass., completing more than 20 projects. Recently, the company finished a seven-phase renovation of Lombard Dining Hall. This was a six-phase renovation of the existing dining hall. In addition to the interior renovations, new construction included an addition to the front main entrance and raising the roof structure by two stories to create an atrium-like space with a cathedral ceiling. We were able to keep the dining hall open for business every day of the school year throughout the four-and-a-half-year project.

What makes this nominee a RISING STAR?
“Dan has an excellent understanding of all aspects of construction and was recently made an owner of the company. In addition to project management, he handles estimates, schedules projects, and directs our carpentry crews on projects. His knowledge and attention to detail are crucial to the success of Lauring Construction.”John Lauring, President at Lauring Construction

Mike Lauring, Lauring Construction

Number of years at firm: 13

One thing on my bucket list: Golfing at Pebble Beach.

When I am not working, I am: Hanging out with my wife and twin boys or golfing if I really have free time.

What recent project, transaction or accomplishment are you most proud of? We have worked with Assumption University in Worcester for more than 40 years. One of our recent projects was a three-story 41,000 s/f health sciences building with an accompanying two-story parking garage. The project had a tight schedule, and the work was impacted by the early days of COVID. I was very pleased with how our company handled that adversity and delivered a great product to Assumption. Other projects include the 64,000 s/f Tsotsis Family Academic Center, the hub of academic life on campus, and the Tinsley Campus Ministry Center (an addition to the Chapel of the Holy Spirit).

What makes this nominee a RISING STAR?
“Actively involved with the day-to-day operations of the company since 2010 and part of the third generation, Mike was recently named an owner in the company. Mike’s attention to detail, his ability to problem solve, and his dedication to his craft make him a valuable asset to Lauring Construction.” Jim Lauring, Vice President at Lauring Construction

Chris Lauring, Lauring Construction

Number of years at firm: 12

One thing on my bucket list: Skydiving.

When I am not working, I am: Enjoying my family or at the beach.

What recent project, transaction or accomplishment are you most proud of? In fall of 2022 we completed an eight-building residential campus for Amego, Inc., an organization that supports people with autism and other developmental disabilities. The project consisted of six group homes (3,600 s/f each) that collectively house 42 people. Additionally, we built a 2,800 s/f community center, 1,000 s/f maintenance garage, playground, half basketball court, and campus-wide walking path. This project definitely had its challenges navigating through COVID supply chain issues but, in the end, resulted in a very successful project. The owner, current residents, and their families are delighted with the final product.

What makes this nominee a RISING STAR?
“Chris has been a large part of our company’s success over the last decade, and we are excited to welcome him as a new owner of the company. He is an asset to any project he is assigned to, and his hard work is respected by project team members.” Mark Lauring, Former Vice President at Lauring Construction
